0

The problem with a lot of earbuds these days is that they come with noise-canceling features. It’s not necessarily a bad thing per se. It’s actually a good feature to have on public transport, but not so much while out in public. This is because being aware of your surroundings is important, which is why if you’re after a pair of earbuds, then the Ultra Open Earbuds from Bose could be worth checking out.

Most earbuds you find these days try to burrow their way into your ear canal. The Bose Ultra Open Earbuds kind of sits on the outer part of your ear, kind of like an earring. The earbuds feature the use of Bose’s OpenAudio technology via a transducer. According to Bose, the earbuds have an acoustic structure that is designed to minimize leakage. This means that only you will be able to hear what you’re listening to.

While the earbuds feature an open design, they also utilize Bose’s Immersive Audio feature. This creates a spatial audio effect that helps to make the sound seem like it’s coming from various directions. This is thanks to the earbuds’ built-in DSP and inertial measurement component.

Another interesting feature about the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds is that it is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Sound. It supports the aptX Adaptive codec for lossless and low latency audio. The earbuds also come with some smart features like Auto Volume. This adjusts the volume levels based on the ambient noise.

These earbuds are also great for the gym. They have an IPX4 rating so they are water-resistant. Bose claims that the earbuds have a battery life of 7.5 hours and an additional 19 hours with the charging case. If the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds is something you’re interested in, they are priced at $299.
